NDA meeting postponed to November 15
NEW DELHI, Nov 5 (UNI) The crucial National Democratic Alliance meeting to resolve the controversy over the BJP reverting to its Hindutva agenda has been postponed by one day and will now be held on November 15.
Originally the meeting was scheduled to be held on November 14 after NDA Convenor George Fernandes and Leader of the Opposition L K Advani decided the date of the meeting yesterday, NDA sources said.
There have been differences among the NDA allies after the BJP talked of "going back to the basics" and readopting its Hindutva ideology.
The Janata Dal (United) National Executive sought a meeting with the NDA on the issue and things seemed to have been sorted out after discussions between senior leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Fernandes and Advani on the issue.
Meanwhile, Telugu Desam Party Supremo and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is in Delhi, said his party would not be attending the NDA meeting because it was not part of the NDA.
The TDP had extended outisde support to the NDA when it was in power.
He, however, said there was "floor coordination" with the NDA in the Lok Sabha.
