Panun Kashmir's national convention on Sept 14

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, July 22: Reiterating its stand of a separate homeland for Kashmiri Pandits, Panun Kashmir is going to hold a national convention on September 14 this year.

According to a statement issued here today, Panun Kashmir leaders have said that those who are opposing Jagti Township and advocating for the construction of such quarters in Kashmir are actually playing in the hands of those who are against the return of Kashmiri Pandits to Kashmir valley.

Addressing a citizen's meet at Roop Nagar in Jammu, Chairman Panun Kashmir Ajay Chrungoo said that Panun Kashmir is committed to the permanent rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants to the north and east of river Jhelum alongwith political and economic empowerment of the community.

He added that the organization will not serve as an impediment but as a means to ensure that the community is provided better living conditions.

Describing Jagti township plan as a step in this direction, Chrungoo said that the camp inmates have been living in difficult conditions from the last 17 years and need of the hour is to underline all such short comings in the government plan and ensure that the township has facilities that a modern township must have.
