PM greets scientists for successful launch

LUCKNOW, Oct 22 (UNI) Prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has congratulated the countrys space scientists for the successful launch of the third operational Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C-3) from the Sriharikota range today.

Mr Vajpayee received the information of the launch while attending a function at the Ganna Sansthan here.

He said the launch of the three remote sensing satellites through the vehicle was meant for "peaceful purposes".

He expressed hope that India would achieve many more milestones in the field of remote sensing.

PSLV-C-3, the third operational launch vehicle, successfully placed Indias Technology Experimental Satellite(TES), Belgiums Proba and Germanys bird into the orbit this morning.
