Poilice meet at Simbal Camp
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, June 7: Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Jammu K Rajendra Kumar- held a Police-Public meeting at Simbal Camp Ward number 1 Jammu to have first hand knowledge about the problems being faced by the people of the area.
It was the first Police- Public meet held by K Rajendra Kumar after taking the charge of Jammu Zone Jammu.
As per release about 100 hundred people, senior citizens, Sarpanches, Panches, leaders of various Political and religious parties including some police officers of the concerned area participated in the meeting.
The participants put before the IGP the problems relating to the drugs used by their youngsters and smuggling of narcotics in their region.
They also put forth the grievances relating to police for picking of some innocents through wrong informers of Police for which they requested that a local team should be constituted comprising of senior citizens and Sarpanches to verify the matter before taking any action.
Moreover, they requested for Special Recruitment drive, as no recruitment has been made since 2002.
IGP Jammu gave a patient hearing to the grievances of the Public and assured them that their problems will be taken up with the concerned authorities for redressal of same.
However, some problems were projected by people relating to police for which IGP issued on spot directions to Police officers present in the meeting.
The IGP also appealed to participants to come forward and help the police in order to curb the crime in the area.
People extended their full cooperation to Police on their behalf.
2 booked under Excise Act KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, June 7: In a drive launched against the menace of illicit liquor, Police booked two persons under Excise Act in Udhampur district.
Reports said, that police intercepted two persons and while frisking they recovered 53 pouches of J&K Excise from the possession of the scooterist identified as Yog Raj, son of Munshi Ram of Mand and 22 pouches from the possession of Sohan Lal, son of Rattan Lal of Jib respectively.
Both the accused have been arrested and Case FIR number 110 of 2008 under section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against them.
