Police intensifies patrolling in Jammu
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Mar 17: Jammu city has been put under the surveillance of the Close Circuit Cameras which are keeping a look out on the movement and activities taking place in the city besides the patrolling by the fifteen flying squad gypsies.
An official handout issued by the Media Centre of the Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu Zone informed that in addition to fifteen squad gypsies, ten 'flying motor bikes' equipped with modern telecommunition facilities linked with Police Control Room (PCR) Jammu have been deployed in the city to reach immediately to the congested areas whenever any urgency arises out.
The proposal for introducing fifteen more motor-bikes for patrolling purpose is in the pipeline and expected to materlise in a couple of days to react faster to any call of the duty.
The purpose is to gear up police to take on any challenge posed by the anti-national elements and to provide better service to the people.
Immediately after assuming the charge of Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone K Rajendra Kumar issued instructions to all his subordinated units for strengthening of nakas, installation of surprise nakas, patrolling round the clock so that nefarious designs of the anti-national elements and notorious persons be checked properly in the city as well as rural areas of the Jammu province.
In Jammu city fifteen police gypsies as Flying Squads fitted with wireless and Global Positioning System are performing patrolling in their respected allotted jurisdictions.
In addition to this for covering the interior city, lane and bye lanes, the flying motorcycles of yellow colour will also be fitted with GPS in the near future.
Each Motor cycle is provided with two police officials equipped with weapons.
