Police works out thefts, recover ornaments
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Mar 15: In a swift action, Gandhi Nagar police while working out a twin theft cases recovered the stolen gold ornaments from Nanak Nagar today.
The thief, however, managed to give slip to the police and fled from his house.
According to the reports, a thief struck in Shiv temple and another temple situated in sector 8, Nanak Nagar in the wee hours this morning.
He decamped with two nose rings and one 'Tikka' from idol of goddess.
A police team headed by SHO Police station Gandhi Nagar SS Sambyal under the supervision of SDPO South SK Chowhan and SP (South) Manohar immediately rushed to the temple.
On the information provided by some local residents, police conducted a raid in the house of Ravi Kumar in Nanak Nagar.
Police recovered stolen gold ornaments which were hidden under a pillow from the house.
The thief identified as Ravi Kumar son of Kuldeep Raj of Nanak Nagar managed to flee from the house.
Police has registered a case in this connection and launched a hunt to nab the absconding burglar.
