Prayer meetings held at Shrine of Bulbul Shah Sahib (RA)

KT NEWS SERVICE Srinagar, Feb 25: Special prayer meetings were held at the Shrine of Hazreth Sayeed Rehman Bulbul Shah Sahib (RA) (the founder of Islam in Kashmir) today.

A good number of devotees across the valley attended the special prayers.

It is worthwhile to mention here that Bulbul Shah Sahib (RA) a spiritual and religious Saint has played a pioneering role in spreading Islam in Kashmir valley.

The history reveals that Bulbul Shah Sahib (RA) stepped in Kashmir from Central Asia during the regime of Sultan Ranchan Shah who was follower of Budhism.

The Sultan got impressed by the spirituality of Bulbul Shah (RA) and embraced Islam.

Also, Bulbul Shah was the first great Sufi saint of the world who laid foundation of spiritual sufism, mutual brotherhood and mutual love between Hinduism, Budhism and Islam.

The valley of Kashmir became horizon and epitome of great sufism since that period and produced world renowned great sofi spiritual saints who spread the message of love and mutual coexistence.

It was Sultan Deen who for the first time constructed mosques, monasteries (Khankahas) and langers in the valley.

These langers were open for all devotees in respective of religion caste and creed and free food was given to them from these langers.

The Bulbul lanker is a symbol of such great heritage where shrine of Bulbul Shah is existing.

He is physically buried in the shrine as he had decided to settle permanently in Kashmir and spread the culture of Kashmiriyat from this place.

Since he had adopted full philosophy of Kashmiriyat, therefore he assumes the honour of being fore father of Philosophy of Kashmiriyat and Sufism.
