Present coalition govt most responsive: Manjit

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan 4: The government is committed to provide basic amenities to the people of the state and efforts are being made in theis regard.

This was stated by Minister of State for Law and Parliamentary Affairs S Manjit Singh while addressing a public gathering at village Jhang in Vijaypur constituency today.

On the occasion, the Minister said that the development works taken up during the past two years were a reflection of positive response of the government towards the needs of the people.

He said that the coalition government has made utmost efforts to resolve the burning issues of the people especially of border and rural areas and asked these efforts have yielded good results.

He said the government has also launched various welfare schemes for aged, handicapped and downtrodden sections of the society and asked the people to come forward and take benefit of these schemes.

The Minister said that he is keen to reach every corner of the constituency to fulfill the promises made with the people at the time of election.

Later, under massive road connectivity programme launched in the state, the Minister laid foundation stone of a approach road at village Jhang in Vijaypur constituency.

One kilometer approach road from village Jhang to Shamshan Bhoomi would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs.

During his tour to the constituency, the people at several places met the Minister and projected their problems for early redresal.

These include uninterrupted power supply and provision for regular potable water, etc.

The Minister gave patient hearing and assured that their genuine demands would be looked into sympathetically and redressed in phased manner.
