President's Success Mantra- "Sweat, Sweat, Sweat"
PANIPAT, Oct 16 (UNI): A day after he celebrated his 73rd birthday, scientist President A P J Abdul Kalam today revealed his "success mantra" for the benefit of the children and that is "Sweat, Sweat, Sweat." Dr Kalam disclosed his success formula while responding to the queries of school children after dedicating to the nation the 250 MW seventh unit of the Tau Devi Lal Thermal Power Station here today.
The President also made it clear to the little ones that his success mantra meant only hard work.
Asked as to what made him interested in aeronautical engineering, he said he was about ten-year-old when he decided that his pursuit in life would have "something to do with flying." Confronted with a challenging poser that being interested in science and philosophy, how did he come to politics, Dr Kalam said he accepted the President's post so as to realise his dream to ameliorate the sufferings of millions of people living below the poverty line.
To another question relating to commercialisation of education in the country, the President said the state must ensure primary education to all children up to the age of 15.
As far as higher and professional education was concerned, there was no dearth of institutions in the country.
"But we require a good leader to manage them," he added.
The President also administered a ten-point pledge to children, taking a commitment from them that they would strive to make the society literate, free of corruption and addiction among other things.
