Protest against arrest of two youth

KT NEWS SERVICE Srinagar, Apr 2: Demanding the immediate release of two youth who were arrested by police task force, the people of Hajan Sonawari today took to streets and protested against the "arrest" of the two youth.

As per reports, Mohammad Shafi Sheeri - a computer engineer and Iqbal Ahmad Wani - a 12th grade student were arrested by the police task force yesterday during the search operations in Hajan.

Today the residents of the area came on roads and protested against their arrest.

The protestors, who were demanding immediate release of the two, said that their arrest was "unprovoked".

The protestors also blocked the Hajan - Bandipora road and paralyzed the vehicular movement for some time.

Later police motivated the protestors to disperse, by promising an investigation into the arrest.

In the meanwhile security forces arrested another person Riyaz Ahamd from Choogul Hundwara.
