KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Feb 1: Hundreds of people today took to streets at Jamalatta to protest against the Hafta Wasooli by the cops.

The incident occurred in the morning when a police party surfaced at Jamalatta and asked shopkeepers to pay Rs 1500 per shop.

Though some shopkeepers paid the sum, others protested.

This irked the police which in turn arrested a nine year old boy selling sacrificial goats.

People immediately took to streets and protested against the highhandedness of the police.

They staged a dharna forcing the people to take a hasty retreat.
