Protest over woman allegedly killed in lathicharge

KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Feb 18: People of Narbal today carried out protest demonstrations against the killing of a woman namely Ayesha Begum who was beaten ruthlessly during the lathi charge yesterday.

The traffic also remained suspended in the area.

According to the reports the woman succumbed to her injuries after being injured yesterday while protesting against the killing of a civilian allegedly at the hands of the Ikhwanis.

The relatives of the deceased have alleged that the police mercilessly beat the woman which was the reason for her death.

As soon as the dead body was brought to her native village hundreds of people protested the killing and also raised slogans against the killing.

Meanwhile, the Hurriet leaders have condemned the killing of woman and have demanded stern action against the people involved in the incident.
