Rajouri to get 5 hostels under KGBV

KT NEWS SERVICE RAJOURI, Sep 16: Rajouri district would soon get five hostels under Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) scheme to facilitate boarding and lodging for girl students of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribe and other backward classes.

This was informed by the Project Director of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), A.K.Raina during his tour here, the other day.

The Project Director after visiting the proposed sites in Khawas, Doongi, Thannamandi, Moghta and Manjakote education zones asked the engineers associated with SSA to take up execution of these projects immediately and ensure their completion as early as possible.

The scheme, he said focuses on promoting literacy and consequent empowerment of girls belong to weaker sections of society by providing education and allied facilities to them under one roof.

Raina interacted with hostel inmates at Dehrian in Doongi zone reviewed their academic progress.

He asked the teaching staff to start remedial teaching for improving academic side of the inmates, for which Chief Education Officer was directed to provide them all necessary pedagogic help.
