KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU 10: Rehmat Ali won the 104th Bamyal Kesari-2008 held at Bamyal in district Jammu in which 60 wrestlers from J& K, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, police and army participated.

National Conference leader, Kuldeep Sharma, Davinder Salathia, President J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, General Secretary, Rakesh Khajuria, Joint Secretary, Sanjeev Sharma, Sarpanch, Bashir Ahmed were present.

The main bout was won by Rehmat Ali of Doda by beating Vinod Sharma of Chandigarh.

Winner bagged a cash of Rs 11,000, gold medal and certificate while loser bagged silver medal.

In second main bout, Sona of Amritsar drew with Abdul Ghani of Doda and won cash of Rs 5,100 each.

Swimmer bags cash award from TN Govt CHENNAI, June 10 (UNI): The Tamil Nadu Government today announced a cash award of Rs one lakh to ace swimmer J Agneeshwar, who won a gold in the Asian meet at Jakarta recently.

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi announced the award to the swimmer for bringing laurels to the State.

An official release here said Agneeshwar had won 126 gold, 49 silver and 28 bronze medals in various international and national swimming meets.

He had also won six golds at a meet in Pakistan.

India facing defensive worries ahead of SAFF Cup semi-final MALE, Jun 10 (UNI): India coach Bob Houghton sounded a cautiousnote ahead of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Cup semi-final clash against Bhutan here.

"I was under the notion that we will be facing Afghanistan.

But Bhutan"s performance surprised me.

We haven"t played them in recent months so I don"t have any plan for them," Houghton said.

Houghton is facing defensive worries with the reliable NS Manju forced to sit out due to an injury.

Sameer Naik will also miss the match after picking up a double booking in the last encounter against hosts Maldives.

"I was under the impression that Sameer would be available for this match because I was told that group stage cards would not count for the knock-out phase," Houghton rued.

"But, the organisers now say that only yellow cards received in successive matches will be withdrawn.

But Sameer was sent off after being shown the yellow card twice." India, who are the defending champions, will field a conventional 4-4-2 formation tomorrow with Sunil Chettri partnering star striker Bhaichung Bhutia upfront.

Misbah wins first TML Voice of India Super Sixes Award DHAKA, Jun 10 (UNI): Pakistan"s Twenty20 World Cup starMisbah-ul-Haq has won the TML Voice of India Super Sixes Awardin the opening match of the ongoing Kitply Cup against Bangladeshhere.

The talented middle-order batsman won the award after hitting two sixes in a breezy innings of 39 off 22 balls on June 8.

Pakistan scored a comprehensive win, beating the hosts by 70 runs.

In each of the four matches, the player who hits maximum number of sixes will get the TML Voice Of India Super Sixes Award with a prize of 1000 dollars.
