KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan 21: Accusing the union and the state governments of shielding "corrupt ministers", Samajwadi Party (SP) today demanded removal of all the "tainted ministers" from the state cabinet.

Addressing media persons here today, the former Member of Parliament and state president of the party Sheikh Abdul Rehman today alleged that the much-hyped slogans of the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad have proved to be "hollow", adding that no concrete measures have been taken to weed out corruption from the state.

He pointed out that the Kundal Committee in its repot has indicted two cabinet ministers for mess in the forest department and urged Chief Minister to sack both cabinet ministers from their posts for bringing transparency in the functioning of the government.

"Besides this, there are number of cases pending in the State Accountability Commission (SAC) in which Commission has recommended stern action against several MLAs, ministers and bureaucrats but no action so far has been taken.

Government should initiate action against all the tainted ministers, MLAs and bureaucrats to bring transparency", alleged the leader.

He also demanded that the assets of all the MLAs, ministers and political representatives should be made public.
