RANCHI, Nov 30 (UNI): The RJD today described as "baseless" reports that Jharkhand Director General of Police T P Sinha had been threatened by Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi.

RJD Gopalganj legislator Sadhu Yadav said the allegation levelled by the Director General of Police was not only "baseless" but also "politically motivated".

Mr Sinha had written to chief minister Babulal Marandi and also state chief secretary V S Dubey stating that he was threatened by Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi and that his family members in Patna had been harrassed.

He alleged that Mrs Rabri Devi had abused him over the phone and even threatened him of dire consequences.

Mr Yadav said Mr Sinha, in a bid to appease his political masters in Jharkhand, had made such a baseless allegation to extend his tenure.

He alleged that the Jharkhand government had resorted to cheap political stunts to win over peoples sympathy.

He said if at all the Cihar chief minister wanted to talk about Laloo Prasad Yadavs security she would have contacted the Jharkhand chief minister and not the Director General of Police.

He said Mr Sinhas brother had already denied that he was harrassed or that the Bihar police had gone to his house in Kadamkuan area of Patna after the judicial confinement of Laloo Prasad Yadav.

The BJP had demanded an immediate enquiry into the entire episode.

The Jharkhand government had also written a letter to the home ministry in this connection.
