Reservation for handicapped in IAS hailed

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan 4: Handicapped Welfare Association, Doda unit, has welcomed the decision of the Delhi High Court, ordering reservation of 2 seats in Indian Administrative Services (IAS) for the disabled persons.

As per release, Farooq Ahmed Thagh, district president of the Association, hoped that the order would be a milestone in promoting the condition of the handicapped population of the country.

He appealed to the State Public Service Commission to incorporate this facility in the favour of the disabled persons, in the Civil Service examinations being held in the state.

Besides, he also urged to the persons at the helm of affairs, to give due consideration to the share of the handicapped persons.

He also appealed to the State Services Recruitment Board (SSRB) to hold interviews for the district cadre at district level.
