'Bandipore killings' Rehman reacts to governor's remarks KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 18: Sheikh Abdul Rehman, former Bahujan Samaj Party, president and Ex MLA today strongly reacted on the 'clean chit' given by the Jammu and Kashmir Governor, SK Sinha to the security forces over the Bandipora killings and termed it as an open support to the human rights violations in the state.

Rehman was reacting to the lecture delivered by the Governor in a seminar held at the Jammu University , on the topic 'Conflict and cooperation in South Asia' the other day.

In a press statement, former BSP president stated that such uncalled for remarks would not only hamper the enquiry and investigation into the episode but would also lower the image of the high office held by the Governor.

He elaborated that the Thanda, Sunjwan and Akhnoor episodes were a proven lapse on behalf of the security forces and the Governor instead of taking remedial measures was encouraging human right violations.

Rehman also criticised the decision of the Mufti led government in converting thousands of ad hoc government employees, having rendered 10-12 tears regular service into contractual employees and warned them against taking such 'childlike' steps, which he termed as anti poor and foolish.
