Revenue officers meet held at Kathua

KT NEWS SERVICE KATHUA, Sep 16: In order to discuss preparedness for elections Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Mandeep Kaur who is also the District Election Officer, Kathua convened a high level meeting of Revenue officers to review the progress made so far in the issuance of EPICs and other election related matters and other revenue related matters here at Kathua today..

Threadbare discussions were held regarding the preparation of the EPICs and updation of electoral rolls .The DEO personally examined the achievements made in this regard.

Mandeep instructed all the tehsildars to gear up the process of updation of electoral rolls and deliver weekly-based progress report regarding the filling up of the form Nos.

6,7,8, (addition/deletion/and corrections) of the electoral rolls.

The District Election Officer also sought detailed information regarding the location/ vulnerability of the polling stations, buildings for polling stations whether they are suitable for polling station or not.

Meanwhile Mandeep Kaur also reviewed the progress made in the conferment of ownership rights of the state land under Roshni Scheme.

It was apprised in the meeting that ownership rights of the state land have been conferred to all the willful applicants for agricultural land in the district.

The conferment of ownership rights regarding the residential/commercial land is under progress.

Besides this the DDC also discussed in detail the issues pertaining to revenue which include acquisition of land, hiring of land for security forces, complaints regarding revenue and relief to those whose crops have been damaged due to heavy rains etc.
