KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 18: Minister for Information Technology Nawang Rigzin Jora in a written appeal to Karnataka chief minister, SM Krishna demanded an enquiry pertaining to the case of sexually abused 'orphans' who were 'picked up' by a non government organisation, Sanrakshan Global Task Force for 'educational purposes'.

The minister was reacting to the recent report of The Kashmir Times which reported that a few children from Ladakh were sexually abused in the said orphanage located at Melkote, 35 kilometers from Bangalore.

Jora in his written statement said, " sexual abuse of small children is the worst form of savagery and an act of barbarism.

These children are from one of the remotest corners of the country and had travelled a distance of a few thousand kilometers to find sustainance and educational oppertunitires in the orphanage.

It is a shame that they were subjected to sexual abuse." He urged the Karnataka chief minister to order an enquiry into the incident and punish the involved at the earliest.
