RJD leader accused of molestation surrenders before court

PATNA, Feb 14 (Agencies): A member of the Patna Municipal Corporation and ruling RJD leader, Ashok Yadav, who is one of the accused in a case of molestation and assault on a theatre group from Jammu and Kashmir, surrendered before a local court today which remanded him to 14 days' judicial custody.

Yadav along with another accused Sajjan Kumar surrendered before the court of Railway magistrate Sanjay Kumar Singh who remanded them to judicial custody.

Ashok Yadav and three of his accomplices were alleged to have molested and assaulted members of a cultural troupe from J & K in December last while they were traveling by the Himgiri Express to Kolkotta to participate in a theatre festival.

A local court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Yadav and others and also ordered attachment of their properties as they eluded the police dragnet.
