Rousing reception given to JU Employees Cricket team

"All possible facilities will be provide for development of sports activities at JU" KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jun 3: The Jammu University Employees Cricket team, brought laurels by winning the Vice-Chancellor's Cup from the recently concluded All India Inter-University Vice-Chancellor's Cup Tournament held at Mumbai University.

Jammu University team was given a rousing reception at the Jammu Railway Station by Vice-Chancellor Prof.

Varun Sahni, Registrar Prof.

Sambyal, and Director, Physical Education Prof.

Dhian Singh Bhau, which was followed by a felicitation ceremony at the University Guest House.

Congratulating the team members the Vice-Chancellor patted the squad for winning the coveted Vice-Chancellor's Cup and also lauded the efforts of the Department of Physical Education.

He further assured that all possible facilities shall be created for the development of sports activities at the Campus.

The glittering trophy was presented to the Vice-Chancellor by the team members.

Here it is pertinent to mention here that 10 teams from the different Universities of India participated in the Tournament.ÿThe trophy was presented to the University of Jammu Team by Mayor of Mumbai and the Vice-Chancellor, Mumbai University.

The team members included Akash Bhola, Captain, Dr.

Daud Iqbal Baba, Vice-Captain, Amit Tagotra, Chaman Lal, Pawan, Abhinav, Subash, Vishal, Rajesh, Manish, Ashish, Mukesh, Surinder, Sumit, The team was accompanied by Raj Kumar, Cricket Coach, Sunil Sahi as Manager and Manoj Chouhan as Assistant Manager and Ram Singh as Kitman.

Among others Dean Students Welfare Prof.

Brij Baloria, Romesh Sharma, P.T.I Campus, S.S.

Heer, president Jammu University Non-Teaching and employees union, Krishan Lal Sharma, president, Jammu University Non-gazetted Employees Association, faculty members, officers, employees and students of the varsity were also present.
