Rs. 4 cr. Action Plan for PURA formulated in Kupwara

KT NEWS SERVICE KUPWARA, Feb 18 : 15 villages adjacent to Kupwara town are being brought under Centrally sponsored scheme, " Provision of Urban Amenities for Rural Areas (PURA) very soon.

This was stated at an officers meeting chaired by the District Development Commissioner, Kupwara here today.

It was given out that Rs.

4 crores action plan has been formulated for the implementation of the scheme.

Reviewing the pace of rural works under execution under various Centrally sponsored schemes in the district, the meeting was informed that Rs.

7 crore are being utilized under the programme during the current financial year.

5 crore have already been spent on completion of 860 rural works generating nearly 4 lakh mandays.

It was also given out that under SSA, 120 new primary schools would be opened in the district during this financial year for which 240 Rehbar-e-Taleem will be appointed.

1.48 crore are being utilized for the successful implementation of the scheme during the period, the meeting was told.
