Rs 5 cr Sewerage Treatment System for Pahalgam: Dilawar
KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 26 : Rupees 5 crore Sewerage Treatment System for Pahalgam is being executed this year to ensure cleanliness and purity of this world famous Tourist Resort.
This was decided at a high level meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Minister of Tourism Mohammad Dilawar Mir.
Services of the reputed consultant would be acquired to review the preliminary project report prepared by the Urban Engineering Department after which the project would be put to the tenders within 45 days on turnkey basis with A-Class local participation.
Based on lift cum gravity system, the proposed sewerage system shall have main trunk sewer of 2750 mtr.
Length, 2100 mtr long secondary sewer, some lateral sewers and a modern sewerage treatment plant costing Rs.
The system will cover the entire left side area of Lidder River from Bus stand to upper Pahalgam village.
The Minister also directed the concerned officers of PDA to expedite work on Pahalgam Golf Club for which about 500 kanals of land have been acquired locally.
He instructed for beautification of the river embankments to make Pahalgam more fascinating and charmful for the visitors.
He directed that all measures should be finalized in advance to cater to heavy rush of Amarnath Yatra Pilgrims and to check pollution due to congestion.
It was decided that Urban Development Department would be executing agency for the project and Pahalgam Development Authority would constantly monitor the execution of work.
The Minister impressed upon the officers to expedite work on various development schemes so that funds do not get lapsed.

Lal Singh chairs DLM Committee Meeting KT NEWS SERVICE KATHUA, Feb 26 : To review the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in Rural Development, Social Welfare, Public Health Engineering, PWD and other departments, a meeting of District Level Vigilance Monitoring Committee (DLMC) was held here at Kathua today.
Member Parliament Doda-Udhampur parliamentary constituency, Lal Singh who is also the chairman of District Level Vigilance Monitoring Committee presided.

Bandana Gupta were present on the occasion.
Lal Singh discussed in length various centrally sponsored schemes for the upliftment of rural and poor masses which included Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY), Indira Awas Yojana (IAY), District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Prime Ministers Gram Sadak Yojana, (PMGSY), total sanitation Campaign (TSC) and augmentation of rural water supply programme (ARWSP) and enquired the status of each scheme from the concerned officer.
He exhorted upon the officers to implement these schemes in letter and spirit so as to percolate the benefit of these schemes for whom these are meant for.
