TCC trounces Seven Star 'A' by 88 run KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Oct 7: Trikuta Club (TCC) trounced Seven Star 'A ' by 88 run and Gorkha club its second match against Sahara Club of the ongoing Satish Sharma Memorial U-19 Cricket tournament played at Parade Ground here today.
In the first match which was played between Trikuta Cricket club (TCC) and Seven Star 'A' was won the TCC with a margin of 88 run.
Opting to bat first after winning toss, TCC made 236 runs for the loss of five wickets in the 30 over match.
Jatin played a brilliant knock of 67 off 28 balls with the seven of seven sixes and four boundaries.
Ghansham played an unbeaten knock of 41 runs off 37 balls which included two fours and one six.
Alok (31), Sohail (29) and Vikas (27) were the other scorers of the team.
From Seven Star 'A ' team, both Pranav and Sahil have claimed two wickets each.
Numman, Yashu and Adarsh shared one wicket each.
Chasing required 237 runs for victory, Seven Star 'A' could make 148 runs in limited 30 over match.
Sahil scored 24.
Adarsh remained unbeaten on 46 and Adnan on 19.
From TCC Sumit took four wickets.
Charanpreet got two and Jatin and Sohail secured one wicket each.
Jatin was declared man of match.
He was awarded man of the trophy by SP South Zahid Manhas.
In the second match, Gorkha Club (GCC) outplayed Sahara Club (SCC) by 41 runs.
GCC made 181 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the limited 30 over match.
Tushar played an excellent unbeaten knock of 66 off 70 balls with the help of six fours, Sanjeev added 39 off 41 balls.
Rubal and Deepak of Sahara Club shared one wicket each.
Batting second, Sahara Club was bundled out in 26 over when score was 140 on the board.
SCC lost the match by 41 runs.
Deepak Singh (11), Sanju (23), Ankush (42*) and Banu (23) were main scorers of the team.
For GCC, Nikhil claimed three wickets and Tushar and Rohsi two each.
Three batsmen were found short at the crease.
Tushar who scored unbeaten 66 and claimed two wickets was awarded man of the trophy the Satish Gupta, the chief guest of this match.
Tomorrow fixture: Kashyap Club v/s Kathua Blues Club at 8:00 AM.
Mobike expedition arrive at Kargil KT NEWS SERVICE KARGIL, Oct 7: The Red Shield Motor Cycle expedition consisting of two officers and 21 members' team of 15 JAK LI was received at Kargil by the Brig SC Rangi Commander Kargil based Brigade.
The Expedition is on its way from Manipur to New Delhi also crossed highest road of the world Khardungla Pass during their adventure route.
The team covered 5640 mts till today the 19th day of expedition.
While motivating the team of expedition , Brig SC Rangi said that motorcycles expedition will not only bring glory to the Indian Army though its journey but will also go a long way in promoting the spirit of adventure amongst troops.
Enlightening the gathering on the flag off ceremony Lt Col Hiren Ramesh Desai underlined the heroic role played by the local population of state, who rose on the call of Sheikh Abdullah, Sher-e-Kashmir.
He said that initially the 14 battalion of JAK Militia operated under state government.
But their heroic efforts in 1947, 1962, 1965 and 1971 wars were recognize by the national in 1972 by making it a part of Indian Army and the Force was re-designated as the JAKLI regiment in 1976.
The expedition has been sponsored by Hero Honda and Indian Oil Corporation in the form of providing motor cycles, petrol, lubricants, repair and recovery cover along the entire route.
Punjab defeats J&K in C K Naidu trophy by an inning and 64 runs KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Oct 7 :Punjab today thrashed Jammu & Kashmir by an inning and 64 runs on the third day of the four day match in C K Naidu under-22 cricket tournament being played at Shar-e-Kashmir cricket stadium in Srinagar.
Punjab won the toss and invited the host to bat first.
Jammu & Kashmir was bundled out for 177 runs in 41.5 overs in their first inning.
In reply Punjab put on a huge 392 runs for the loss of all wickets in their first innings thus taking lead of 215 runs.
Fifth wicket partnership of 174 runs between Sumit Sharma and Udhay Koul paved the way for amassing such huge first inning total for Punjab.
Udhay scored brilliant 125 runs while Sumit scored 104.
For home team, Asif and Mudasir claimed three wickets each.
Trailing by 215 runs, the home team had a terrible start to their second innings as they lost both the openers when the score read seven.
In the second inning, Punjab's medium pacer Birinder Singh wreak havoc to Jammu & Kashmir batsmen.
He bowled immaculate line and length and took nine wickets for 47 runs.
Jammu & Kashmir score could only 151 runs in their second innings, resulting in huge Punjab win by an inning and 64 runs.
The match was officiated by S K Sharma and Paschim Pathak while Amarjeet Kaypee was the match referee from Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
