Session curtailed upto March 5

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 17 : Presenting the sixth report of the Business Advisory Committee of the 10th Legislative Assembly in the House, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Muzaffar Hussain Baig issued the revised calendar for conduct of business in Legislative Assembly.

Due to the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, the legislative assembly curtailed the proceedings upto March 5 instead of March 12, the date fixed earlier.

Baig informed that yesterday the Business Advisory Committee that met under the chairmanship of Speaker Tara Chand held threadbare discussions unanimously adopted the revised calendar that recommended presentation of annual budget and supplementary statement of expenditure on February 20 while general discussion on budget would be on February 22 when the House is scheduled to have second sitting.

Two sittings from February 23 to 28 and first sitting on March 1 have been earmarked for Demands for Grants while, appropriation bills will be taken up in the second sitting on the same day.

March 3 and March 4 has been earmarked for private members resolutions and bills and February 21 and March 5 for government business.
