SRTC employees to launch agitation
KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Feb 25: The employees as well as workers of the State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) have decided to launch a vigorous agitation if their demand of releasing the salary is not met by the government by tomorrow evening.
"For the last two months we have not received any salary and the month of February is also nearing completion, but there is no response from the government in releasing the pending salaries.
We have fixed a time frame for the government upto 3:00 P.M on Monday and in case our demands are not met by then we shall be going for a full fledged agitation against the government," said a delegation of employees while talking to Kashmir Times.
The delegation said that the employees as well as workers of the Corporation would be forced to come on streets to lodge their protest and for all the consequences the government would be responsible.
They added that despite the claims made by the government that their problems would be looked into there is no change with employees still waiting for the release of pending salaries.
"A few days back we met Aijaz Ahmad Kakroo, additional secretary to the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and we informed him about the problems being faced by us.
He assured us that the salaries would be released very soon and in fact the same was beamed by the government media as well, but all that proved to be a hoax.
We are facing the problems and there is nobody who would come up and solve the issue for us," said the employees.
