Sushma to hold rally to counter Sonia's roadshow in UP

GORAKHPUR, Feb 12 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj will address a rally here on February 21 with a view to counter Congress president Sonia Gandhi's recent tour of the state.

Besides Swaraj, senior party leaders, including former chief minister Kalyan Singh, union agriculture minister Rajnath Singh and Kalraj Mishra will also participate in the rally.

This would also be Kalyan Singh's first visit to Eastern Uttar Pradesh after his party merged with the BJP.

Though the dates for the Lok Sabha elections have not been announced as yet, both the Congress and the BJP are focussing on the Eastern part of the state.

Deputy prime minister L K Advani will also address a rally in Varanasi on February 20.

Meanwhile, Congress sources said Gandhi was also slated to visit the region soon.
