Thali poojan to be performed at maha lakshami mandir

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Aug 6 : The annual Machail yatra in Doda district would commence from Chinote, Bhadarwah on August 18.

According to the management of Sarv Shakti Sewak Sanstha, the yatra would start its journey from Chinote on August 18 and have night halt at Kishtwar.

On August 19, it will leave for Atholi, a destination 60 kms from Kishtwar, where it would halt for the night.

Next day, the yatris would perform rituals at Shechool temple near Atholi in the forenoon and commence their onward journey to Massu on the same day i.e.

August 20 in the afternoon and reach there for night halt at 7 p.m.

after covering on foot journey of 9 kms.

On August 21, the yatra would leave from Massu for Chishoti at 8 a.m.

and would halt there after covering a distance of 12 kms.

The yatra would leave for the final destination of Machail temple on August 22 from Chishoti at 8 a.m.

and would reach at Machail in the afternoon after covering 9 kms journey on foot.

On August 23, the pilgrims would have darshan of the Goddess Chandi Mata and perform havan, kirtan, bhajans and other religious ceremonies.

The first batch of pilgrims would start their return journey to Bhadarwah from Machail on August 24 while the second batch would leave Machail on August 25.

Meanwhile, thali poojan ceremony in connection with the annual Machail yatra would be performed at Maha Lakashmi Mandir, Pacca Danga Jammu on August 16 from 5 p.m.

On August 17, the yatris from Jammu would start their journey from the Maha Lakashmi Mandir, Pacca Danga in the form of a procession in the morning that would pass through Jain Bazar, Link Road, Purani Mandi, City Chowk, Raghunath Temple and reach Indira Chowk wherefrom the pilgrims would board the buses for Bhadarwah.
