"I hope they will send us the money soon," said Argentinas economy minister, Domingo Cavallo, in mid-November.

Its only $1.3 billion, hardly a drop in the bucket compared to the $132 billion of public debt that is crushing the Argentine economy, but if the International Monetary Fund doesnt hand it over soon, Argentina is probably heading for a default on that massive debt, most of which is held by foreigners.
