Union Home Secy in Valley

KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Aug 6: A two-member team lead by the union home secretary Dirender Singh arrived here today on a two-day visit to asses the latest security scenario in the valley.

Reports said that the team will exchange its views with various people in the valley.

Dirender Singh today met chief minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and discussed the security situation of the state with him.

It is learnt that the two-member team will also hold meetings with the security officials during which ideas will be exchanged about the recent suicidal attacks by the militants.

Meanwhile the union parliamentary minister and PCC president, Ghulam Nabi Azad and the Governor of Rajasthan, Madan Lal Khurana also arrived here today.

Azad is here on an official visit and he would also hold meetings with his party workers while Madan Lal Khurana has come in connection with the Amarnath Yatra.
