We can handle Kashmir issue ourselves:India

NEW DELHI, Nov 5 (UNI) India today made it firmly clear to the European Union (EU) that it did not need any third party assistance for resolving the Jammu and Kashmir issue.

"It is our well thought out and considered view that we are confident of handling the issue ourselves," Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran told reporters here.

He was asked to comment on Dutch Ambassador Eric F Ch.

Niehe's statement yesterday, offering the good offices of the EU to India and Pakistan in settling the Kashmir issue.
