Youth dies in suicide pact

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, July 12: In a suicide pact, two love birds made abortive bids to end their lives in Bishnah area today.

The youth died while the girl is battling between life and death at the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Ram Pal, son of Rattan Lal of Khadia Khurd Bishnah while the girl has been identified as Neena Kumari, daughter of Magar Mal resident of same village.

Police said that Ram Pal was serving in army and he had come home on leave.

Both of them were in love since long and decided to commit suicide when their family disagreed over their marriage.

They consumed poisonous substance in the fields and were hospitalized when spotted unconscious by the villagers.

The youth died at the hospital while the condition girl was stated to be critical.

Police has registered a case in this connection.
