KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, May 28: Two persons including an eighteen year girl allegedly committed suicide in two separate incidents while eight persons including made abortive bids on their lives by consuming poisonous substance at their respective residence since last night.
Police reports said that an eighteen year old girl committed suicide by hanging herself with the hook of a ceiling fan at her residence in Excise Department Quarters Nagrota today.
The deceased has been identified as Shevata, daughter of Sunil resident of Bhaderwah at present Excise Department Quarters Nagrota.
Police said that she was noticed hanging inside her room by her family members today.
The victim was shifted to the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital where doctors pronounced her as brought dead.
In another incident Krishan Lal, son of Milkhi Ram of Kotli Mirza RS Pura committed suicide after consuming poisonous substance.
He was admitted to the GMC hospital on May 23, 2008 as poison case and he expired today.
The bodies after autopsy were handed over to the respective family members for last rites.
Police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPc in both the cases.
Police said that eight persons made abortive bids on their lives by consuming poisonous substance at their respective residence since last night.
They were identified as Pinky, daughter of Mangal Dass of Ramgarh, Pinky, wife of Tej Krishan of Bhori, Mohammad Ayub of Sidhra, Roshi, daughter of raju of New Plots, Shanker Dass, son of Jagat Ram of Sadwan, Chaman Lal, son of Shankar Lal of Kana Chak, Shah Mohammad, son of Gagy Malik of Surinsar and Rami Bhat, wife of Aman Bhat, of Durga Nagar.
They were admitted to the GMC hospital for treatment.
