2 moderate aftershocks hit JK

KT NEWS SERVICE SRINAGAR, Oct 30: Two aftershocks of moderate intensity shook Kashmir valley last night, the Meterological Department said here today.

A tremor measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale with its epicentre near Pakistan-occupied Kashmir was felt at around 2126 hours IST last night, a Met official said.

The earthquake was the second within one-and-a-half hours.

At 1953 hours IST, a tremor of 5.0 intensity with epicentre in Pakistan shook the valley.

As many as 65 aftershocks were recorded after the killer quake struck Jammu and Kashmir, PoK and Pakistan on October 8, killing thousands of people and rendering lakhs homeless.
