KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Mar 2: The Sales Tax Checkpost, Lakhanpur, has registered an increase of 18 per cent in imports and unprecedented increase of 570 per cent in revenue realisation during the month of February 2005.

Kakroo, Deputy Commissioner, Sales Tax Checkpost, revealed that revenue of Rs 20.71 crores was realised during the month as against Rs 3.09 crore last February.
The revenue realised during the month include passenger tax, penalty, security, entry tax, composite tax, etc.
The Dy Commissioner also informed that there was a decrease in imports of Kashmir division due to closure of National Highway during past one month.
