Agri technocrats to start door-to-door campaign

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 17: Unemployed Agricultural Technocrats Association (UATA) has decided to start door to door campaign against the step motherly policies of state government towards technocrates.

As per a press release, a deputation of association called on deputy chief minister and agriculture minister and apprised them about the various problems being faced by them.

Members flayed government for its failure to give right directions regarding the implementation of Rehber-e-Ziarat scheme.

They said leaders only give fake assurance and instead of providing the opportunities to unemployed technocrates benefits are being provided to anti-social elements by implementing surrender policy for militants.

Members appealed the state government to adjust the technocrats immediately or otherwise dire consequences.

Mother slits infant's throat JCO 'shot dead' by jawan in Kaluchak KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 17: An army jawan allegedly murdered a Naib Subedar by shooting him with his official weapon at Kaluchak evening last while an another army jawans wife slit throat of her one month old daughter at Udhampur today.

According to the police, an army jawan shot dead a junior commissioned officer (JCO) inside the unit area of 603 Armed workshop presently located at Kaluchak last evening.

The deceased has been identified as Naib Subedar Rishi Kumar number JC/755686-Y of 603 Armed workshop C/o 56APO.

Police identified the accused as Parvesh of same unit.

Both had a tiff over some trival issue last evening inside the unit area.

The sepoy reportedly fired upon the JCO late in the evening killing him on the spot.

He fired three shots on the JCO.

Panic gripped inside the army camp due to firing in the evening hours.

The senior police officials rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Military Hospital (MH) where he was pronounced brought dead.

Police has registered a case in this connection and started investigation.

The accused was being interrogated by the army authorities and will be handed over to the police tomorrow for further investigation.

In a grusome incident, an army Jawan's wife slit throat of her one month old baby inside army quarter of 3rd advance base workshop in Udhampur today.

According to the reports, Rani Devi, wife of PG Bhagwan allegedly slit throat of her one month old daughter at her quarter today.

The woman slaughtered her daughter when her husband went to his duty this morning.

Her husband, however, said that she was mentally sick.

It is pertinent to mention here that the woman gave birth to a girl child on January 22, 2004 after her 10 years of married life.

Police has registered a case in this connection and started investigations.

Police has recovered the knife with which she slit the throat of baby.

The body of baby after autopsy was buried today.
