KT NEWS SERVICE REASI, Feb 4 : Deputy Commissioner Udhampur O P Kalandria who is also chairman of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Development Board convened a meeting of officers to finalizes the adequate arrangements for the ensuing 4-day historic Shiv Khori Mela commencing from February 14 to 17, 2007 at village Ransoo in Pouni block of tehsil Reasi of the Udhampur district.
Tehsildar Reasi Ashok Kumar Sharma, Executive Engineer, PWD, Assistant Director CAPD, Assistant Director Tourism Katra, CDPO Pouni, Deputy Chief Education Officer, ADAO Reasi, BDO Pouni, AEE Electric Reasi and TSO were present in the meeting.
During the meeting necessary arrangements of security, drinking water, power supply, traffic, law and order, barricading, improvement of road at Ransoo bazaar, medical facilities with oxygen cylinders, provision of tents, arrangements of vehicles, blankets, public address system, price control, supply of ration, sugar and kerosene oil, sanitation and fire fighting services were finalized.
As usual free langers by various social organizations would also be arranged during the mela days for the facility of devotees.
Tehsildar, Settlement Reasi Rattan Chand Tripathi has already been nominated as Mela Officer, while Naib Tehsildar Pouni-Reasi and Thakrake to would be deployed as Magistrates.
As per the order of District Magistrate Udhampur, there would be complete dry days from February 14 to 18 in Pouni Niabat area at Pouni, Bhambla and Ransoo keeping in view the Shivratri Mela.
During the period the sale and consumption of liquor will remain totally prohibited.
