KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, May 14: Denouncing the militants attack in Samba and the serial blasts in the Pink City, Chairman of the All India Anti-Terrorist Front (AITF) Maninderjit Singh Bitta today said the government should immediately introduce an 'Anti-terrorist Military Code' in the country to eradicate the menace of militancy.
Bitta visited the house of Hoshiar Singh at Garh Samba and photojournalist Ashok Sodhi at Old Rehari to pay tributes to those who lost their lives during the Samba encounter on May 11, 2008.
Addressing a press conference here Bitta said, "The government should, at once, introduce an 'Anti-terrorist Military Code' in the country, which will help in wiping out militancy from India." He said that strict action should be taken, once the Code was being introduced and there should be no leniency towards the anti-national elements, including those politicians, who were somehow also responsible in supporting the 'bug' called militancy.
He said that free hand should be given to the security forces in order to cater with militancy and there should be no political interference in deterring with the militancy.
"Pakistan was never interested in restoring peace with India.
The serial blasts in Jaipur and Samba encounter has made things transparent and once again, it is clear that Pakistan wants to spread militancy in Jammu and Kashmir and in other parts of India as well," Bitta averred.
The government often talked of opening border roads for promoting trade and tourism between both the countries, but there should be no 'Samjhauta Express' or any other initiative, unless Pakistan promised to wipe out militancy in India and demolish the existing training camps in the Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PAK), Bitta said,.
Expressing his condolences with the family members of Ashok Sodhi, Bitta said that he will demand from Central Government to sanction a Petrol Pump or Gas Agency in favour of the next kins of the deceased photo journalist.
During his visit at Sodhi's residence, Bitta assured to help in admission of Eena, daughter of Ashok Sodhi in Medical Courses after completion of her studies.
He said that AITF will facilitate Ashok Sodhi the brave son of soil and provide financial assistance to his family.
