NEW DELHI, Feb 4 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today expressed happiness over the report of the Justice S N Phukan Commission probing the "Tehelka scandal," exonerating defence minister George Fernandes of any wrongdoing.
BJP parliamentary party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said with the Commission exonerating Fernandes, the Congress had turned out to be a big loser because it could no longer rake up the "coffin scandal." Malhotra also expressed disappointment over Congress president and leader of the opposition Sonia Gandhi's sticking to her written speech just two days before the 13th Lok Sabha dissolution.
"It has been 36 years after she came to India, and four years and four months in the Lok Sabha.
We would have been happy if she spoke either in English or Hindi without her written speech," Malhotra said.
