BJP to launch anti Congress-Communists' campaign

NEW DELHI, Sep 24 (UNI): The Bharatiya Janata Party will launch a week long nationwide campaign against the Congress and Leftparties seeking public clarification for allegedly havingreceived funds from the Soviet intelligence agency (KGB).

BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said that all senior party leaders including former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, President L K Advani, Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, Kalyan Singh, Pramod Mahajan and Rajnath Singh would participate in various programmes chalked out by the party in the country.

The campaign beginning on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhayay will end on October 2, the Gandhi Jayanti.

While Vajpayee and Naidu would participate in the stir here in the capital, Advani would address a rally at Somnath in Gujarat.

Dr Joshi, Mahajan and Singh would participate in such programmes at Meerut, Assam and Madhya Pradesh respectively, Naqvi said.

During the campaign they would tell the people about the anti-national activities of the Congress and Communists, he said.

Naqvi termed the receipt of any kind of money from a foreign intelligence agency as compromising the national security.

He said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi must clarify to the people why their party had received the money from the KGB.

MLTR to collaborate with Indian musicians BANGALORE, Sep 24 (UNI): The Denmark based trio band, MLTR will soon collaborate with an Indian group, Band drummer Kare Wenscher said today.

Talking to newsmen here on the eve of their three live show performance in India, the band drummer said the details for the collaboration were being worked out.

However, he declined to comment further.

Coming to Bangalore after a decade, MLTR hoped the rains would not disrupt their show to be held at the Palace Grounds here tomorrow.

MLTR had sold over eight million units since their debut in 1991.

Ten years ago had it to curtail its performance in the city due to rains.

Kare who confirmed that there was roof this time on the stage appealed to the fans not to go away and sing along with the band some of the popular songs.

" The performance will be a mix of old and new songs" Singer and Keyboard player Jascha Richter said.

Jascha said that the band was keen with lyrics as Indian fans were giving a lot to it.

Formed at a high school in Aarhus way back in 1967 in Denmark, the band has come a long way though it lost its fourth partner Soren Madsen five years ago."we missed him initially" Jascha said about Soren who had been with the group in India last time around.

Jascha said that the band would record live the performances to be held here, Mumbai and in Shillop and will add a few new songs before releasing it after six to eight months.

The concert will be held in Mumbai on September 28 and in Shillong on Octgober one.

Michael Learns to Rock (MLTR) was the first album the group released in September 1991.

Among other tracks it contained a hit Ballad, the Actor that in January 1992 won the band the pole position on the Danish albuum sales chart.

It also topped charts in Norway, Sweden, Indonesia, Malaysia Singapore and the Phillippines.

The Indian tour has been organised by the Planman Group which has launched a new division Planman Life to foray into international events.

The concert was being held in association with the Great Indian Dream Foundation founded by Prof Arindam Chaudhuri, noted economist and management Guru.
