KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Feb 16 : The Budget session of the Jammu and Kashmir state legislature began here this morning with Governor, Gen S K Sinha addressing the joint session in the central hall.
Later, both the houses met separately and were adjourned for the day after obituary references, moved by Chairman Legislative Council A R Dar and Speaker Legislative Assembly Tara Chand in the respective houses, to pay homage to Ram Nath Manhas, Peer Hissam-ud-Din and Justice Janki Nath Bhat, former legislators, who expired during the inter-session period, were passed.
Earlier, immediately after meeting in separate sessions, the copies of the Governor's address were laid on the table of the two houses.
The Governor on arrival in the legislature complex was accorded a ceremonial welcome.
