CB produces challan against 6 accused

KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, July 23: After the completion of investigation in impersonation case pertaining to selection in various professional courses, Crime Branch today produced challan against six accused persons.

The accused have been identified as Altai Hussain son of Abdul Rahim Dhar, Zahoor Ahmed son of Mohd Ashraf, Arbab son of Dilshad, Vikrant Sharma son of Parshotam Sharma, Apurab Gupta son of Krishan Lai Gupta and Riaz Ahmed son of Shabir Ahmed.

The investigation of case FIR number 38/2005 under Section 420/120-B/RPC 5(2) PC.

Act police station Crime Branch Jammu revealed that candidates of "Common Entrance Test 2005" of Board of Professional Entrance Examination identified as Altaf Hussain Dhar having Roll number 205555, Ames Ahmed having Roll number 205511 and others had managed their selection in various professional courses such as MBBS and BDS, etc by getting other persons to impersonate for them in the examination centre Jammu.

The investigation further revealed that the impersonators had solved the question papers for the actual candidates by taking huge money from them.

On these facts, a case was registered in Crime Branch.

"During the course of investigation records related to the case was seized from the board of professional entrance examination Jammu.

Moreover, application forms with attendance sheet in respect of the candidates question were also seized.

The specimen signatures of the candidates were also obtained and got examined through FSL," said report.

The investigation report further maintained that as per the circumstantial evidence and records seized in the instant case, it has been found that the accused persons have managed impersonators to solve the entrance examination in their place.

"By this way, the deserving candidates have been cheated for their right in admission in MBBS and BDS etc.

The offences have been established against the accused persons, who have been challaned in the competent Court of Law for judicial determination.

The matter was taken up with the board of professional entrance examination for cancellation of the candidature of the accused candidates.

However, they are continuing under the direction of Court.

Challan produced against accused in cheating case KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, July 23: Crime Branch Kashmir has produced challan against five officials of a finance company for cheating innocent people.

Official reports said that a case FIR number 96/99 was registered in police station Leh on the complaint lodged by Thupstan Chewang, Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC regarding grabbing of money by the management of a non-banking finance company namely Sunrise Investment and Finance Ltd.

Reports added that the initial investigation of the case was carried out by police station Leh which was subsequently transferred to Crime Branch Kashmir in view of its importance.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the company was established in the year 1995 by Azhar Abbas son of Nisar Ahmad, Adeel Murtasa son of Nissar Khan, Nighat Abbas wife of Azhar Abbas, Nisar Hussain Khan son of Ghulam Ali, resident of Barji Harwan Srinagar and Pyaray Lai Aima son of Sham Lai Aima, resident of Subhash Nagar Jammu with its head office at Jammu.

The investigation further revealed, "Subsequently different branches were set up at various places including Leh, Choglamser and Khalso.

The management of the company motivated common masses to deposit their savings with the company for better interest rates and other lucrative scheme.

Reports further said that attracted by these offers, common masses of Ladakh region deposited their savings to the tune of lacs of rupees with the company which were ultimately grabbed as the company wound up its business establishments without repaying even the principal amount to the depositors.

Crime Branch has presented challan against five persons in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate.
