KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan 4: Chief Electoral Officer has ordered that to avoide impersonation at the ensuing Elections to Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Municipal Committees, the polling staff shall verify the identity of each elector before he/she is allowed to cast his/her vote.
For the purpose of identification, the elector must possess one of the documents.
These include, Identity Card issued by Government/Semi-Government Department, EPIC issued by the Election Commission of India, Driving licence, Bank's Pass book, Income Tax Identity (PAN) Cards, Passport, Ration card, ST/SC/OBC Certificate issued by competent Authority, Pension documents such as Ex-servicemen's pension book/pension payment orders, Ex-servicemen's widow/dependent certificates/ old age pension order and widow pension order, Railway identification cards, Freedom Fighter Identity cards, Arms licence, Certificate of Physically Handicapped issued by competent authority and State Subject Certificate.
