NEW DELHI, Oct 29 (UNI): The Centre is in touch with the AndhraPradesh government and has alerted the Army, the Air Force andthe Central Para-military Forces (CPMF) to assist the civiladmnistration for recovery of the bodies of those killed inthe train accident at Nalgonda this morning.
Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil spoke to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S R Rajsekhar Reddy while Home Secretary V K Duggal is in touch with state government officials.
Duggal told reporters that everything was now going on smoothly and he was in touch with Dircetor General of the state police.
"Everything in on stream," he said.
Ashim Khurana, Joint Secretary (Disaster Management) in the Union Home Ministry while giving details, said eigt front bogies of the train had fallen into water at about 0440 hrs and the Centre had assured all help to the state government.
He said one column of the Army including six boats and some divers, had been pressed into service besides the CPMF who had been asked to coordinate with teh civilian admnistration.
Army medical teahad also been rushed to the area.
Khurana refarined from giving any figures about the dead saying they did not hae confirmed reports.
However, sources said more than a 100 people were feared dead.
