KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan 7: A jawan of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) last evening allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources said that a jawan identified as Pargat Singh (number 881330349), resident of village Tikri Barnala district in Punjab, who was posted in of D Coy 193 Battalion, shot himself with his service rifle last evening at ITI complex in Poonch town.
Police said he died on the spot while reason behind the suicide was yet to be ascertained.
Inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPc have been initiated, they said.
