KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Jan 9: The Director General of Police, Gopal Sharma called upon the police forces to combat valiantly with the militants, sacrifice themselves to up hold the great tradition of armed forces but don't bow down cowardly.
Sharma was addressing at a grand Police darbar held here today at Police complex Channi Himmat.
Addressing, the policemen, he said that over the years, the police force of the state is grappling courageously with the militants, who are hell bent upon to create havoc in the state but the ever vigilant jawans have scuttled the foul attempts of the terrorists.
In the emerging international situation, he said that a peaceful environment is possible in the state but policemen should always be alert in discharge of their duties so that the sacrifices made by the jawans may not go haywire.
He said that the state police force is well equipped with sophisticated weapons and weapons should be kept as a pious limb of their body, to thwart the evil designs of the mischievous mongers.
Urging the commandants, he said that they should developed close rapport with the policemen for keeping their morale high.
Maintaining their physique in the best performance of their duties, he said that they should go for physical exercises to keep in balance their mind, body and soul for confronting the unwarranted situation.
For providing healthy living environment in the police lines, he said that basic amenities would be provided to them and their welfare is a prime cause for the whole state.
He assured the policemen for sympathetic action, who explained their difficulties.
He said that the policemen from hence would get their monthly salary slips with deduction for their convenience.
