Sunita, Varun bag gold in Jr category KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, Sept 6: Varun Sharma claimed gold in boys section, while Sunita stood first in girls category in open category of junior section in the two-day Jammu District Wushu Championship which came to an end today at Indoor Complex, M A Stadium, here.
To exhibit fighting skills and techniques to the sub-junior and junior players, a couple of demonstration fights took place between the senior players before the prize distribution function.
Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu, Manohar Singh, who was invited as chief guest in the prize distribution function, could not make it because of certain engagements.
Later the winners and runners-up were given away prizes by the senior players and office bearers of the Association.
In the closing function Ram Raj Sharma and Kuldeep Handoo were guests of honour.
Prominent among others present were Ranjeev Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Ajay Paul Gill, Abhishek Jain and Vivek Basan.
Vice-Principal of Maharishi International School, Rama Jamwal was also present.
