KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, June 3 : Delhi Public School, Jammu excelled in 10th District Taekwando championship organised by T.A.J.K which was recently concluded at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, Jammu.
DPS bagged 24 medals.
Akshit Gupta, Vaibhav Jain, Tawheed Iqbal, Ibrar Ganai, Somya Sharma, Ridhiman Raman (D.P.S.) Arham Jain (G.D.
Goneka), Rupal Anand and Jabeel Ahmed (Jain School) won gold medals.
Suvrat Sharma, Anuj Sharma, Rudresh Thakur, Maheep Bhardwaj, Sainyam Gupta, Saomit Sharma, Sudanshu Gupta, Vibudh Jain, Ivanka Raman, Tejal Kaste, Kanan Koul (D.P.S) and Apoorvi (Presentation Convent) win silver medals.
Siddhant Sharma, Smarth Gupta, Akshit Gupta, Vasu Grover, Hardik Pargal, Akshit Mahajan, Kavish Salgotra (D.P.S.) and Akhil Anand (Jain School) win bronze medal.
All the students who participated in the competition were trained bvy Rohit Thakyal.
KTDA, KASC sends 25 students on adventure training; DC Kishtwar flags off team KT NEWS SERVICE KISHTWAR, June 3 : Kishtwar Tourism Development Authority of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department and Kishtwar Adventure Sports Club today send a team of twenty-five students on adventure training to Jawahar mountaineering institute Bhaderwah.
The team was flagged off by Deputy Commission Kishtwar GR Bhagat in presence of KTDA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Khalid Jahangir and senior officers of district administration.
Vice president KASC Firdous Tak and Treasurer Naveed Khursheed besides incharge adventure tourism Jammu tourism department Mudassir Mushtaq kichloo were also present.
The team comprising students of Islamia Faridia Educational Institute and Government High Secondary School Kishtwar will go intensive training in mountaineering, rock-climbing and tracking in Bhaderwah before returning to Kishtwar, where they will go on tracking in Paddar area.
Interacting with the students, DC Kishtwar GR Bhagat appreciated the role of KTDA nd KASC for organizing such kind of training programmes for the youth of the area.
He said that the district has great potential of adventure tourism and such training programmes will not only help in improving the life style of students but it will also provide alternate income generating source for the youth.
He expressed need for organizing more such trainings and adventure camps in the area so as to explore the potential of the district.
Earlier CEO KTDA Khalid Jahangir informed the Deputy Commission that the department has a special focus on the adventure sports as it has come up with a great tourism potential for the state.
District Kishtwar, he said, has many unexplored areas and youth are being trained so as to flourish the adventure tourism in the area.
He said that more such programmes are in pipeline and the district will see a wind of adventure tourism in near future.
