KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, May 2: Jay Kay Women Welfare Society held a programme in Doda for improving the lives of orphans in Doda and Kishtwar districts.
Programme was also supported by Save the Child, Bal Rakhsha Bharat and funded by European Commission Humanitarian Aid Office (ECHO) New Delhi.
District Development Commissioner Doda, Khurshid Ahmed Bhat welcomed the delegates at Doda and said that all efforts will be held to improve the conditions of orphans, women and children.
He thanked the society for their support to orphans of the district.
Executive director of the society T R Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
Delegates also visited villages Kandote, Jangalwar, Phagso and discussed related issues with villagers.
Addressing a gathering at Thathri, A K Sen Chief Education Officer (CEO) Doda, and Yassine Gaba of ECHO said that the support must be sustainable and with dignity so that moral will of the children also be boosted.
Momentos and certificates were also presented to the teachers and workers for their excellent work in their field.
BJP alleges corruption in SC/ST corp KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, May 2: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Scheduled Caste Morcha J&K Senior vice President, Surrender Bhagat has alleged the misappropriation of funds provided to SC/ST Development Corporation of the state.
He said that people were not getting benefits from the schemes of corporation and the government should order enquiry to investigate the matter as he had received many complaints from the public against working of corporation.
Bhagat demanded effective implementation of SRO-294 so that people belonging to SC/ST get benefited.
He also demanded reservation to scheduled caste women in state assembly.
Awareness camp for women KT NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, May 2: Central Social Welfare Board New Delhi in collaboration with Modern Social and Rural Development Society organized five-days awareness camp for the women of rural areas.
In the camp information about the Education, AIDS, artisans and various financial schemes were imparted to the participants.
Senior Manager of Jammu Rural Bank in his address gives detail information on various financial schemes by the centre and state government for the upliftment of the people of rural areas.
Others resource persons who shared their knowledge with the participants included Tilak Raj Sharma, Rita Devi, Dr.
Vandana Dogra , Sudershan Khanmotra and Parveen Gupta, President of Society.
Speaking on the concluded function of camp Parveen Gupta extended thanks to the resource persons and organizers and hoped that women will definitely take benefit from the camp.
